To our Shipmates of the USS Hancock CV/CVA-19

Did you lose a shipmate while serving aboard the Hancock? It is quite possible that you did. For those who did lose a pal, perhaps these words will give comfort... I would like to re-iterate the truth of these words to you as I have previously...

God holds in his heart, a very special place for those warriors who lose their lives in defense of Righteous Ideals; even when those Ideals aren't always clearly defined. Your loved ones and friends have not died in vain. God has a definite Plan for these, our Brothers and Sisters, who have made the supreme sacrifice, and in this Plan, we most surely Hope and depend.

As surely as these have not been forgotten by us, they are NEVER forgotten by the God, who gave them life. We may mourn their loss, for the loss of their presence in our lives, but to overly do so, is to deny the Grace and Purpose of God Almighty, for it was in His Eternal Plan, through His most Perfect Will, that our loved ones and friends have gone on before us.

Let us, then, be at Peace, as we do so humbly wish them also to have found Perfect Peace. The Scriptures are not lacking in such comforts...

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1)

" Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." ( Psalms 116:15)

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones." (Proverbs 3:5-7)

"And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." ( Rev. 14:13)

This Page is a Tribute to these, who have gone on before us, of our Crew; of the crew of the USS Indianapolis CA-35 and the USS Jaccard DE-355 and all other Crews of our Navy and for all those, who gave their lives in defense of Freedom. May these, our brothers, never be forgotten. They shall surely not, by those who were touched in one way or another by their lives and their sacrifice, but for America, as time passes, our youth have a tendency to forget.

Therefore it is the wish and hope of the Web Yeoman of this Memorial, by putting this Site up on the Internet, that many will visit here, and Remember those who made their "Last Full Measure of Devotion" to our cause of Liberty, where Justice and the Blessings of God will continue. It has always been so, because of such noble sacrifices, as made by these, that our country has been blessed above all other nations. To lose Faith in our Benefactor, is to lose what we Americans have hailed so well since our founding, through the singing of our National Anthem, and the taking of the Oath of Allegiance.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation,
under God,
indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all"

"We shall remember while the light lives still, and in the darkness, we shall never forget"
