Brian Robert Koehn, Sgt, U. S. Army

This Memorial to Brian Robert Koehn was put on this site as a token of my esteem and friendship for my old Roommate and friend.. we didn't have enough time together to really forge a lasting friendship, and he wasn't on this earth long enough to allow us time in the future. "Brian was my Roommate and close friend 1969-1970, where we lived in Campbellsport, Wisconsin. He had recently left his home to be a "Free Bird" We had only about six months together, but those six months were some pretty awesome times - Brian loved to party and we did a good share of that during those short months. In 1970, Brian wanted to join the Army to show his patriotism and because he didn't like what was happening in Vietnam, he thought he could make a difference in the war. After several months in Basic Training in Ft. Leonardwood, MO, he received orders to Vietnam. Brian didn't have a chance to make much of a difference in the War because 17 days after arriving in country, his hooch was hit by an incoming mortar which took his life. Brian was a fun-loving, sweet kid and was loved by everyone who knew him. An only child of Robert and Dorothy Koehn of Campbellsport, Wisconsin. HIs death caused both of his parents great sorrow and because of their broken hearts, they soon joined Brian. His death left a trail of sorrow that many walked on in those days. This Memorial is to keep the Memory of Brian Robert Koehn alive.
