Many wonder how we as a Nation got so involved and entrenched in the Vietnam difficulties. These difficulties actually were long in brewing. The actual first casualty in Vietnam occurred in 1945. The Geneva Accords on 20 July 1954 were drawn up to end hostilities between the French and the Vietnamese. Here you can read for yourself the dynamics involved and learn where the seeds for the 1000 Day War were planted in American Politics.
