Major jp4 fuel spill @ pump station #2 port side 70psi of pressure out of a 2 inch line knocked me on my butt as I was bending right over the line that I was replacing caskets on, yes I was repairing this pump that I had torn apart someone charged the lines on the portside while pump was broken down wide open.Happened right before flight ops. while other V-4 Division purple shirts were topping off A-4's/F-8's.using fuel from the starboard side pump stations only! That sailor who charged the port side pumps I think the oldman had him thrown overboard {kidding} Anyway I was the one that was submerged in jet fuel. Thanks for the rescue from 2 brave sailors and the fact that 2 portholes were dumping jet fuel out so fast that my rescuers could see me and peel me off the porthole I was clinging to for dear life blind at that moment from the jp4 in my eyes and vomiting from swallowing jp4. God Bless you guy's and thanks again wherever you might be. I am now 56 years old and still remember that day like it just happened:) I did have some awesome friends on the Hanna also I was on the Kiddie Cruise option ended up extending and was transferred to nas mirmar fighter town USA after we got back to Alameda (home)
