Dear Jake,
I joined the USS Hancock Association about a year ago. I noticed your name in the Hannah News.
I was aboard the Hancock during 1962-1966. I was first assigned to Navigation Department, then made E-4 and was transferred to Weapons Department, "W" Division. Was discharged as a YN2 (E5) in 1966.
I remember going to X-Division to pick up our mail and remember you. I remember your name among several others. I used to have to go to several other Admin offices and worked with most department’s personnel.
It all seems like yesterday. I was happy to discover the ship is being kept alive through the Association and also on your Homepage. I saw her in Oakland, California just days before she was taken away for scrap.
I stayed in Alameda until 1996. Went overseas and now am waiting for the next few years before I retire from the Department of Defense.
It has been a good life, but fast! Write and let me know if you remember my name. Hope life has treated you good.
